Overview
Founded over 20 years ago, Alora Home Finders has grown from a local property management business to a comprehensive real estate service provider specializing in both buying and selling properties in Alora, Spain. The owners approached me for a website redesign after their previous site had become outdated and ineffective. Self-managed updates led to broken links, poor performance, and a confusing interface that failed to attract their target audience—particularly international buyers seeking properties in the Alora area.
The goal was to create a modern, user-friendly website that enhances the user experience, showcases Alora’s high-end listings, and drives lead generation, focusing on buyers from the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands.

To ensure the success of the redesign, I did a market research phase, which included competitor analysis, an evaluation of Alora Home Finders’ existing website, and a review of current market trends. This phase helped identify key areas for improvement and provided insights into how the website could be optimized to not only meet user expectations but also stand out in a already competitive real estate market.
This initial site map guided the navigation, interactive elements, CTA's and redirects. As the project progressed, I refined the structure to better meet user needs. For example, I created a dedicated page for Alora Lifestyle articles, separating it from the Advice Guides blog, to provide more tailored and organized content.
I chose Coconat for titles as a bold yet friendly statement, and for smaller and longer texts I chose Montserrat, a simple and very legible font. As for the color palette, I retained the client's three primary colors to maintain brand consistency. To enhance the design, I introduced soft cream tones that add warmth and to evoke the inviting feel of the Spanish environment.

I developed the website on WordPress using Elementor and adapted my designs to fit the Houzez plugin, which the client was familiar with, using custom CSS and GSAP animations to add dynamic elements. I also provided documentation to guide them in using their new CMS and cleaned up their WordPress dashboard for easier management. In terms of content, I assisted with copywriting to ensure clarity and relevance while improving the site's visual appeal.
The final design prioritized the implementation of a search widget prominently on the homepage, enabling users to begin their property search immediately. Additionally, I integrated tags for filtering search results, making it easier for international buyers to find properties that matched their needs
To improve usability, I included an embedded map near the top of each property page, providing users with instant context about the location. Unlike text descriptions, the map provides instant visual context, helping users—especially those outside the country—make quicker, more informed choices.
The client preferred keeping detailed property descriptions, so I restructured the content into a grid layout with clear headings for better readability. The page features enhanced spacing, larger property images, streamlined access to key information such as contact options and property details and a section for similar listings to encourage further exploration.
By leveraging Elementor’s built-in responsive design tools, I adjusted the page elements for different screen sizes, ensuring an optimal viewing experience on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. This allowed for easy customization of layouts and ensured the content remained accessible and user-friendly on all devices.
Redesigning the Alora Home Finders website was both a rewarding and challenging experience that pushed me to find creative workarounds for development constraints while keeping the client’s needs at the forefront of every decision. This project strengthened my problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to adapt quickly as a freelancer.
As for the final design, clear communication and a unique brand identity proved essential in building trust and credibility for their business. The redesign received positive feedback from Alora Home Finders' clients and led to a increase in leads after launch.
